How to add a quantity to a record

When you don't need an individual record for grouped items

There are some items such as safety glasses, gloves or wetsuit shoes that make sense to be grouped together in Papertrail, rather than as individual records.

Please note - that for safety equipment we highly recommend creating one record for each item so that you can carry out and evidence thorough inspections.


Step by step

To add a quantity to a record in the web app, first add a record. Add an inspection to the record. During the inspection process, click in the Quantity box and enter the total number of that item you have, then press Save.

To add a quantity to a record in the mobile app, first add a record. Add an inspection to the record. During the inspection process, click the Quantity box and enter the total number of that item you have, then press Save.

You must remember to inspect and amend the quantity every time you either add or remove items to retain accuracy and account for loss or damage.
