How to activate new features and functionality

Not all Papertrail features are switched on by default — some need to be enabled for your account first. Here's what to look out for and how to check.

Overview

Papertrail includes a core set of features available to all accounts, but certain advanced capabilities are add-ons; they need to be separately enabled on your account before you can access them. These features are not turned on by default.

Add-On Features: What Needs Activating

📋 Checklist Editor

The Checklist Editor allows you to build and customise inspection checklists directly within Papertrail, rather than using pre-built templates. This feature must be enabled for your account before you can access it. There may be an additional fee to activate this feature.

How to tell if it's active: If you cannot see the option to create or edit checklist templates in your account settings, this add-on may not be enabled, or you may not have Admin permissions.

Other Add-Ons

Depending on your subscription and configuration, additional features may also require separate enablement, including (but not limited to):

  • Advanced reporting or data exports

  • Workflows

  • Custom certificates

  • Single Sign-On (SSO)

  • Bulk import tools

If you're looking for a feature and can't find it, it's worth checking whether it forms part of your current plan or needs to be added.


How to Check Whether an Add-On Is Active on Your Account

Add-on status is managed at the account level by the Papertrail team. To find out whether a specific feature is enabled for you:

  1. Contact us via the chat widget or support form.

  2. Let us know which feature you're looking for (e.g. "I'd like to check if Checklist Editor is enabled on our account").

  3. We'll confirm the current status and, if needed, arrange for it to be activated.

⚠️ Note: Some add-ons may incur an additional cost depending on your subscription tier. Our team will let you know if this applies before making any changes.
