(By default any user, irrelevant of their normal privileges and permissions can add a note to an item)
There may be times when you want to make a note in Papertrail about the status of an item, but you don't actually want to mark it as inspected. An example of this could be if an item has been quarantined and you want to write a note about the status of repairs, but you don't actually want to make it as inspected and safe for use.
The best way to do this is by adding a note.
How to add notes to records in Papertrail
You can add a note to a single or multiple record(s) in Papertrail by selecting the item(s) you want to add a note to
Clicking on the "drop down" arrow opens up a dialogue box where you can
select "Add note"
to access the "Add note" dialogue box where you can add your notes/comments
Once you have added your note, just remember to save it by clicking the big "Save" button at the bottom of the page. Your note will be saved, and the next inspection date for your record will not have changed.
If you're adding the same comment/note to a number of records then you can select the green arrow to copy the comment/note to all the selected records, this will copy the comment/note to all the selected records. You must save all to copy the comment/note to all the selected records.
