Adding PPE products from our directory directly into your Papertrail account couldn't be easier! You can use the web or mobile app.

To get started, first you need to create a new record. Navigate to the folder that you want to have the record in (you can see which folder you are currently in using the dark blue navigation panel at the top of the page) and then click New record.

A new window will pop up. Make sure you click the Import tab on the left rather than Create.

In the search box you can either type in a specific product name or model number, or you can type in a manufacturer name to display all of their products in a list. 

You may find it easier to search available products on our PPE Directory webpage to identify the names you want on a bigger screen!

For some DMM iD products, you can scan the unique iD number into the search bar to bring up the product. However, for all other products, scanning the barcode or QR code on the item will not be recognised in our PPE Directory - see How to add a barcode to a record.

Once the product that you need is showing, click on it to display all of its product information. The information in this window can vary from product to product, but can include a photo, description, product code, size, any certifications and important documents like certificate of conformity and care guidelines. All of this information will be automatically imported into the Papertrail record for you!

You can change also the quantity of the product being added if you have more than one of the same product.

Once you've confirmed that it is the right product, click Add to Import List. If you have more products to import from the PPE directory, you can search for them and add them to your import list in exactly the same way. You can change the inspection frequency and initial state of the records if you wish.

Finish the process by clicking Import and your new records will appear in your account.

Don't forget to add any unique identifiers that you have for the item, for example an identifier value or barcode or RFID, along with purchase details and any tags or checklists.
Importing products using the mobile app follows the same process; selecting the three dots at the top of the screen, will bring up the bottom menu. 

Selecting Import Record will bring you to the PPE directory.

Simply type in the name of the product or the Manufacturer and this will generate a list of products for you to choose from.
Find the product you need to import and then simply select it from the results.

Scroll to the bottom of the information, check your quantity,  and click Add to List.

You can now keep adding products to your import list, or you can Complete Import. This will add the record and all the manufacturer information to your account.
