Adding products from our Product Directory directly into your Papertrail account couldn't be easier. You can use the web or mobile app.

Once you have logged in, click on the folder you would like to add a record to from the menu on the left-hand side then click New record.

A dialogue box will appear. Click on the Import tab at the top.

In the search bar, type in a product name or model number. You can also search by manufacturer name to display their products. 

Please note - you may find it easier to search and import available products from our Product Directory webpage.

For Singing Rock and DMM iD products, you can enter the unique digital label or scan the unique iD number into the search bar to bring up the product. However, for all other products, scanning the barcode or QR code on the item will not be recognised in our Product Directory. Once in your account, you will be able to assign barcodes to your records.

Click on your desired product to display all of its product information.

The information in this window can vary from product to product, but usually includes photos, description, product code, size, certifications and important documents (such as care guidelines and certificate of conformity). All of this information will be automatically imported into the Papertrail record for you.

Change the Quantity if you have more than one of the same item and once you're happy, click Add to Import List.

If you have more products to import from the Product Directory, you can search for them and add them to your import list in exactly the same way. You can change the inspection frequency and initial state of the records if you wish.

Finish the process by clicking Import and your new record(s) will appear in your account.

Don't forget to add any unique identifiers that you have for the item, for example an identifier value or barcode or RFID, along with purchase details and any tags or checklists.


Importing products using the mobile app follows the same process; selecting the three dots at the top of the screen will bring up a menu.

To import a record using the mobile app, first ensure you are online. Select the Folders tab from the bottom panel. Select the folder you wish to create a record in.

This will open the folder and you can now select the three dots in the top right corner of your device.

Selecting Import Record will bring you to the Product Directory view.

In the search bar, type in a product name or model number. You can also search by manufacturer name to display their products.

Click on your desired product to display all of its product information. Scroll down, check your quantity and click Add to List.

More Options allows you to change the state before importing it into the account.

You can now keep adding products to your import list, or you can Complete Import. This will add the record and all the manufacturer information into your account.
