The use of an NFC tag enables you to search for and identify a record or group of records with ease. The easiest way to do this is with the built-in NFC scanning functionality in the Papertrail mobile app. You can also connect a scanning device to your computer and use the web app too.

Step by Step

Search for records πŸ”Ž

From your account dashboard in the mobile app, tap on the magnifying glass icon in the top right hand corner of the screen.

Tap on the NFC button to open the NFC pop up.

Scan your NFC tag, ensuring you receive a success message, and observe the NFC Tag ID in the search input. Any associated records should appear in the results list.

To continue scanning you can repeat this process by tapping on one of the scanning type icons (NFC, RFID & Barcode) under the search bar and each ID found will be added to the top search bar and associated records will all appear in one list. You can alternate between the different scanning methods when building your search list.

To perform a bulk action on these records simply tap Select All and the quick actions menu will appear at the bottom or alternatively you can tap on the 3 dot menu (top left) to view a full range of bulk actions.

Alternatively if you don't have the app handy and have an NFC scanner you can scan the record and it will contain a link to a public summary page for that record. Open that link to view record details including name, current state and next check data. From here you can also click to view the record in the Papertrail web app.
