Adding a barcode to your kit in Papertrail makes future inspections a breeze.
Instead of searching through folders, you can just "point and shoot" to pull up a record (or records) instantly. Here is how to get set up using the mobile or web app.
Getting Started
You can assign barcodes using two different methods:
Mobile App: Use your phoneβs built-in camera as a scanner.
Web App: Connect an external scanning device to your computer.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Find the Record: Navigate to the specific item of equipment you want to tag.
Open Details: Click into the record and select Add/View more details.

βAdd the Barcode Field: Click the + icon in the top right-hand corner. From the list of available fields, select Barcode.

Pro-Tips for Efficiency
Group Assets: You can assign the same barcode to more than one record. This is particularly useful if you have a group of items that are always inspected together.
Instant Retrieval: Once the details are saved, you can simply scan the barcode to bring up that record instead of manually searching your folders when itβs time for an inspection.
